Every sport presents its own unique challenge to your body's movement. Your foot acts as the mediator between you and the surface you are performing on. Our footwear designers are charged to ensure that speed, security, comfort, and fit are delivered in every shoe they create. They know it starts with a question What is best for the athlete?
As a Sport Performance footwear designer at adidas, you'll have access to the latest design equipment, most innovative materials and technologies, and be on the forefront of bio-mechanic research from our state-of-the-art athlete testing labs. Then you'll put it all together in one holistic design statement that Adi Dassler would endorse. You see, at adidas, we want footwear designers who are forward thinking and respect tradition.
We believe good design is practical, functional, enhances movement, and actually improves the body's performance through temperature management and muscle support. We ensure good design through an acute awareness of biomechanics and technical apparel design skills. We also develop our own materials and fabrics, and we set the standards for weight, fit, function, and aesthetics.

Graphics communicate your views on sport to the world without words. Whether it is the story of the NBA, the image of a Nascar Driver, or the vision of an MLS athlete, our designers create a graphic language that binds each creative team together. They are the visual storytellers of each concept using line, type, texture, and illustration style to help define the visual continuity of each concept and category.
As a Sport Performance Graphic Designer, you will be surrounded by all the sports inspiration you could ever imagine to design the most innovative graphic stories for apparel, footwear, and accessories. You will work in singular illustrations as well as create intricate graphic systems to help build a strong visual identity that communicates a clear story to each athlete.
Color often defines the most recognizable visual identity of a product. Determining what colors will be relevant in 18 months just scratches the surface of what our Color Designers need to be good at. The real challenge starts with understanding the role color plays in communicating the idea of each new product.
You'll work with Marketing and Design teams to create a color strategy each season for your category, work with the individual designers to understand the best way to show the functional newness in each product, and spend plenty of time researching the effect color has on an athlete's desire.
How a product is presented is vital to the design process. Technical Designers are responsible for showcasing an idea and following through on the design vision as it relates to every detail of every product.
You'll work with Marketing and Design teams to create presentation tools that communicate concepts and design language, work with designers to understand and express every detail of every product through to production. In this role, you see it all and have the privilege of putting the finishing touches on amazing product.
The ait. group has created many amazing innovations that continually push the boundaries of performance products, including the adidas_1 -- a running shoe that can "sense" if you are running on concrete or a forest trail and immediately offers the comfort and support required for the surface. There is the soccer ball made famous in the World Cup Final in 2006 that has a sensor located in the center capable of detecting if the ball crosses the goal line. More recently, the ait. group created an athletic base layer called Techfit Powerweb that bundles muscles together and acts as a slingshot for the body. As a designer or engineer in ait., you will combine your passion for sport with top echelon technical design skills to create and engineer market leading concepts.
